Don't Rush The Set Up Or Break Down.

If there is one thing I have learned owning a travel trailer it is don’t rush the set-up or break down. The first lesson I learned from this was leaving the Wilmington, NC KOA in a thunderstorm and in my haste I forgot to insert the L-pins on my Husky Center Line Hitch.  I knew something was wrong when we hit a dip on an overpass and our truck and trailer bounced like crazy.  Half way home we stopped for gas and the spring bars were pointing 90 degrees from the tongue of the trailer.  This means we drove about 55 miles with no sway control whatsoever (dodged that bullet).

My second mistake while rushing was connecting the trailer to take it home for a bath and crossed the positive and negative wires on the battery.  This blew a fuse on the back of the Furrion entertainment center and two blown fuses in the distribution center.  We did not realize that anything was wrong with the distribution center until the next morning and everything started shutting down.  The travel trailer had been running off the battery all night and it was running out of juice.

So take your time. Check and double check everything.
